Dudwell St Mary is a well-respected care home housed in the stunning setting of a former convent, with a calm and welcoming atmosphere. Its position overlooking the scenic Dudwell Valley is complemented by its well-tended and extensive grounds. With its picturesque gardens, the home is conveniently located on the outskirts of Burwash in East Sussex just 2 miles from Etchingham and 15 miles from Tunbridge Wells.

We provide high quality 24-hour nursing and residential care and skilled support for frail older people and for people living with dementia, including planned and emergency respite breaks.

We had a major refurbishment at the home in 2016. The appearance of the home was carefully designed with the people we care for in mind. Our bright new reception area is the perfect spot for socialising or taking part in one of our many daily activities. Our beautiful new dining room is a wonderful place to enjoy a three-course home-made lunch and our new bedrooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated. Why not take a look at our virtual tour to see our brand new look?

Our dedicated team of highly qualified, attentive and experienced staff create a welcoming atmosphere full of smiles and laughter, which is enjoyed by the people we support, their families, relatives and visitors. Our focus is on making a difference in the lives of those for whom we care, supporting family and friends to ensure that moving from familiar surroundings to Dudwell St Mary is a smooth transition.

Our staff work as a team and are passionate about our quality of care, our facilities and the whole environment. Our dedication can be seen in the quality of our cooking, hospitality and of our social activities, matched to individual preferences.

Guests are always welcome to visit Dudwell St Mary to experience for themselves the warmth of our home and its staff. We think you will find that we are ideally suited to meet your needs. Why not arrange a visit to see for yourself - and meet our General Manager, Happiness, who lives up to her name!
